Our Story
The conception of SCUTA started in the winter of 2013. The elementary school counseling department in an urban school district in Pennsylvania wanted to conduct a time-study to analyze their work and assess how closely their program delivery met the standards of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA). Using an excel spreadsheet and collating the data of 14 different counselors was daunting and nerve-wracking.
A representative of the department approached zLabs for help. We created a simple, intuitive web based application to assist in the task. SCUTA’s development also included the creation of a Glossary of Tasks to establish a common language of school counseling work for easy compilation and comparison of data. The Glossary can be customized for different users or school districts.
