Cory Notestein of Alamosa High School in Alamosa, Colorado was named the 2015 Counselor of the Year. High on his list is the fact that almost 90% of his students graduate and over 80% of the students of seniors graduate with three or more college credits.

“The more I learned about our school counselors, the more I realized that often, America’s school counselors are truly the deciding factor in whether our young people attend college or not,” Obama said.
